Update on Boaz and his flock of sheep
Meet Boaz….
Our new to be guardian sheepdog Boaz (meaning strength is within him). He is 50% Pyrenees and 50% Maremma. We purchased him from our friend BJ Arvidsson. A good day for the sheep and not so good day for the coyotes!
Sheep squeeze and trim chute….long overdue
Should have bought one of these a long time ago for hoof trimming and vaccinating. Nice to have the upper hand. No more wrestling with these big boys!
Well, the lambing is just about done. Just a couple sheep left that were bred later. Definitely had some challenging moments with the colder weather this year. Losses were higher this year as well but I can’t attribute it the colder weather. Oh the things I would do different in hindsight. Add it to the learning curve I guess. All in all, a nice crop of lambs this year. Finally, put together some pictures to brighten your day.
Starting the 2020 Lambing with a little extra help
I couldn’t help taking some pictures of the sheep today on this beautiful fall afternoon
